We work to develop long-term relationships. Whether your needs are simple or complex, we can help.

The History of MWC

1962 – 1972

Mason Warner & Company was founded in 1962 when Jimmie Mason left a local accounting firm to begin his own practice. By 1963, the firm had moved to 1708 15th Street, where steady growth followed.

J. Reid Warner joined in 1964 and became a partner in 1968, helping establish a firm rooted in long term relationships, steady leadership, and trusted service.

1972 – 1991

As client needs evolved, the firm expanded from primarily tax preparation to a full range of accounting services.

In 1973, the firm relocated to the Tower of the Plains Building at 50th and University. What began as a portion of the fourth floor soon grew to occupy the entire floor.

Between 1978 and 1981, five accountants joined the firm: Mark Dickson, Greg Freeman, Pat Harris, Gary Lane, and Greg Moore. Their leadership would shape the firm’s direction for decades to come.

1991 – 2003

In 1991, the firm purchased its current building at 5202 Indiana Avenue, marking a long term investment in stability and independence.

This era also marked an important leadership transition. Founder Jimmie Mason retired in 2000, setting the stage for continued succession and sustained growth.

2004 – Present

Pat Harris retired in 2004, followed by Greg Freeman in 2019 and Gary Lane in 2021. Greg Moore has retired from ownership and now serves in an of counsel role, continuing to provide experience and guidance. Mark Dickson remains active in ownership.

Barbara Gilliam became a shareholder in 2004, Tait Crow in 2012, and in 2022 Jeremy Stapp and Will Sanders joined the ownership group. Reid Warner retired in 2007. Together, this leadership team represents the next generation guiding Mason Warner & Company forward.
